Blackpool Transfer Talk- Mackail Smith
The 31 year old, who experienced his best years at Peterborough United, scored 35 goals in the 2010-11 season which won him League One player of the season. Recently though the goals have dried up for the striker. He scored only 3 goals in 35 games last season and hasn't scored since September, which will lead some to the conclusion that he has lost his goalscoring ability.
However, the forward has a very good reputation in the lower leagues and knows what it takes to score goals in League One so could be a very good acquisition for the Seasiders should he decide to reduce his wage demands or Pool decide to give him what he is asking for. Currently though, no deal is in place.
Manager Neil McDonald has made signing strikers his top priority with Mark Cullen currently the only striker on Blackpool's books but the news that Nile Ranger may return to Blackpool in two weeks` time would give McDonald another striking option, but as we all know Ranger is far from reliable.
McDonald is believed to be very interested in Mackail-Smith but if no progress can be made on wages, on either side, he may decide to join another club such as Luton Town, who are also interested in the striker.
