Gazette: Bannan and Puncheon Bids Imminent

Previous loan stars Barry Bannan and Jason Puncheon are hot on Ian Holloway's radar, report the Blackpool Gazette.

The paper - renowned for not publishing anything until they're completely sure of the facts - state that Ian Holloway is set to offer Aston Villa £1m for Bannan this week.

Managing to land the Scotland international could prove tricky however, given that the midfielder played for Villa in the weekend victory over Blackburn Rovers.

Jason Puncheon has been sought-after by a host of clubs throughout the summer after being frozen out at Southampton by Nigel Adkins.

The midfielder spent much of last season out on loan - impressing hugely at Millwall and of course, Bloomfield Road.

Interestingly, he was used sparingly by Ollie and rumours were abound that the club weren't actively pursuing the player's services.

But today's developments say different, and with just nine days to go until the transfer deadline, it's sure to be a busy week behind the scenes.

not sure we'll be looking to lend out Bananaman to be honest. Think he is on the fringe and could push in more. came on as a sub v Blackburn on Saturday and we don't have a very deep squad anyway, unless we go buy a mid like Scott Parker, I'd think Bannan will be being used by Villa.
The Fear
Hope you manage to get Puncheon, just so we can keep wee bananboy at the Villa... (rather keep him than get Parker)
