SkySports: QPR Bid for DJ Campbell

Sky Sports are reporting that Queens Park Rangers have bid 1.25m for Blackpool striker DJ Campbell.

The rumour has been circulating around the internet for a number of weeks that newly-promoted QPR would activate a relegation clause in DJ's contract.

That clause is thought to be the 1.25m quoted by Sky and Talksport, but we are not privy to such details.

Campbell was a revelation in the Premier League last season, notching 13 goals from open play during the Seasiders' brave battle against the drop to the Championship.

At the prices quoted and for a striker who was amongst the top English scorers in the league, it is hardly surprising that firm interest has come about.

Sunderland were also mentioned as to wanting Campbell, but he has previously been settled in London - making clubs down there a more likely destination.
