ANOTHER Midfielder! Surely Not?

Blackpool are to do battle for the signature of Sekou Baradji, according to TalkSport.

The 26-year-old was on trial at Premiership rivals Wigan Athletic in July but Roberto Martinez decided against signing the free agent, despite taking him on their tour to Austria.

Baradji is described as a combative midfielder, with Stoke City and West Ham United being linked with a move, the latter fairly heavily.

It begs the question whether Ian Holloway's squad needs another central midfielder, with Charlie Adam, David Vaughan, Keith Southern, Ludovic Sylvestre and Chris Basham all vying for three spots - with attack-minded Elliot Grandin and Gary Taylor-Fletcher also capable of filling the void.

Regardless, Baradji is a 26-year-old who has recently travelled around the lower leagues in France and the top flight in Portugal.

English clubs have always had one eye on him, after a loan spell at Reading which lasted just one game after signing for West Ham. He failed to make an appearance at Upton Park.
