Seasiders Join Pitman Race?

Blackpool have joined a host of Championship clubs in the race to sign Bournemouth striker Brett Pitman, say reports.

The Daily Echo in Bournemouth states that Ian Holloway is ready to make a bid for the striker, who has hit 15 goals already this campaign.

A £800,000 price tag for the 21-year-old seems to be too steep for 'Pool who are unlikely to gamble that much money on an unproven goalscorer at this level.

But if they are serious about signing the player, the Seasiders will have to get a move on. Plymouth Argyle, Cardiff, Peterborough, Huddersfield and Derby County have all been keeping tabs.

It does seem that the stiffest competition will come from Plymouth, who are ready to sell Jamie Mackie in a bid to sign Pitman.

Any move is unlikely to happen until the last week of the transfer window.
