'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Latest Transfer Talk

There has been no bid from Preston North End for Charlie Adam according to the players agent Kenny Moyes, who said, 'We have nothing with Preston at the moment. Charlie met with (Rangers boss) Walter Smith on Wednesday afternoon and we are going to make a decision which is best for his future.'

Ian Holloway was hoping to hold talks with Adam today.

Meanwhile, Holloway has said that he wants to keep Shaun Barker at the seaside, calling the defender 'absolutely different class - a fantastic human being, a proper pro, a great bloke, adding, 'I don't want to lose him in an ideal world, but things aren't ideal so we'll see.'

Holloway also revealed that a 'final ultimatum' has been received from one of the clubs hoping to sign Barker, believed to be Derby County. And another club, presumably Nottingham Forest are still trying to get Barker with a player-plus-cash offer. Holloway said,

'We have a final ultimatum basically from one of the clubs. They say they value him at X amount and are not going to budge from that. Another club have asked me to look at their squad and see if I would like anybody to go along with the money they were going to give me.'

'It's waiting on myself and the chairman to sit down and discuss the possibilities. Since Shaun's move to centre-half I've had a long chat with him. I think that's where he was born to play and hardly anyone has ever played him there. I think he will get better and better if he plays for us and I am trying to impress him with the training we are going through.'

Sky Sports have been reporting today that Blackpool are considering a bid for Norwich City midfielder Matty Pattison. He joined the Canaries from Newcastle United on a permanent basis in January 2008, but struggled for first-team action under manager Bryan Gunn last season, failing to make an appearance since January 2009.

Meanwhile Blackpool are still being linked with Shrewsbury Town winger Chris Humphrey who was left behind when the Shrews first team squad flew to Spain for a pre-season training camp. Blackpool have had one bid turned down for Humphrey, but it is unclear yet whether a further offer will be made or not.
