MOM vs Norwich

About time there was a decent home game to write an article for man of the match on! What a nice change it was to see a dominant and fantastic home performance against fellow relegation strugglers Norwich. In all honesty any one of the lads that played could have won it, they all did there bit to ensure a vital 3 points.

Before we go onto the Norwich game, here is a quick wind up of the past winners since the last article when we had played Birmingham and QPR.

There have been seven games in between the QPR and Norwich games, and Alex John-Baptiste picked up 4 of the awards in these 7 games. He won Ipswich, Derby and Watford making him the first player to ever win 3 in a row, and then he recently picked up the award in the undeserved defeat to Burnley. Shaun Barker won the award for the game against Palace when 'Pool picked up a brilliant win with ten men. David Vaughan was the winner against Doncaster in a game that Blackpool could have won on another day, and Paul Rabuchka got the award for the 1-1 draw against Bristol City.

Back on to the Norwich game, Keith Southern, Alex John-Baptiste and Paul Rachubka both picked up one vote. Southern had a great game in the centre of the pitch on his return, AJB was superb in the middle of the defence and won everything whilst Rabs made a couple of good saves in the first half and went on to earn a deserving clean sheet.

In second place was Charlie Adam who scored a lovely goal and gave all in all a great performance in the middle along side Southern.

Both with 3 votes and looking for their first MOTM of the season are Danny Coid and Brett Ormerod. Coid didn`t put a foot wrong at right back and had a superb game whilst Brett worked his socks off and scored the vital goal to break the deadlock, whether he meant it or not doesn't really matter, all that matters is that it hit the back off the net!

The winner will be announced on the forum with the updated table Thursday.
