MOM vs Birmingham

Following on from the terrible display against Burnley I expected this one to have a few different nominations purely for the fact I presumed (and most other fans) that we would get beat and taught a lesson, that then resulting in poor performances so a wide range of choices for MOTM against Birmingham. Could we have been more wrong?

Yes there were a lot of choices and you could have picked anyone on what was a truly fantastic display against a team who only a few months ago were in the premiership and nearly weren't far off avoiding relegation.

All in all you couldn't fault anyone on Saturday; we have received record votes for this game, and there were 4 different choices overall. Will the superb defence have got your vote, or the battling midfield or the excellent play upfront?

An example of how good the team was that in today's version of The Mirror, Rob Edwards has got a 9/10 and was given man of the match, according to the vital posters he didn't even get one vote, but did get some recognitions amongst other players who didn't get any votes, but it was a tough one when you can only pick one player.

So down to the voting, Gary Taylor-Fletcher, Ian Evatt and David Vaughan all finished joint second with 3 votes each. GTF was nominated for his superb display capping it off with his first goal of the season. Ian Evatt built upon his excellent performance at Burnley to go and do it again, luckily this time the other defenders followed him as well and put in a great performance. David Vaughan had another impressive game in the midfield, now that Vaughan is getting to full fitness he is starting to look a gem and a great signing.

The winner of the Birmingham MOTM is Steve Kabba, and this also takes him to top of the MOTM standings with 3 votes. Kabba received 7 votes and was praised for his superb all around performance upfront. I do hope (as does every other Blackpool fan!) that Kabba will sign for the Seasiders permanently once his loan deal expires in January.

Here are the latest standings:

Steve Kabba 3
Adam Hammill 2
Rob Edwards 1
Ben Burgess 1
Ian Evatt 1
