For the last two weeks, our Vital Site Poll has been asking you, the fans, why Blackpool managed 10 points in 12 games... With manager Simon Grayson stating from the first game of the season, up until the defeat at Carlisle on the 26th September, that it would take time for the players in the current squad to "gel" it seems the majority of you agree with that very statement, with 62% of you saying that the players settling in was the reason for the 10 points in 12.
21% of you stated that it was all down to luck, which seems to have eluded The Seasiders in recent seasons...especially when it comes down to penalty claims, most notably last season AND this season at Tranmere!
7% of you thought that the pressure placed on Larry by Valeri Belokon with his comments regarding the team being able to finish in the playoff places at least gave the team a well needed kick up the backside, resulting in a great run of form as of late - "Fortress Bloomfield Road" springs to mind...still no signage, but that's for another day...
Some voters believed it was a change in tactics that saw a direct turnaround in 'Pool's form, although not much had changed in form of formation, mainly tweaking the team to get the right blend up front and of course, shoring up the defence made a major difference! Finally, 4% of voters thought that it was the fans getting behind the team, backroom staff and of course the players on the pitch. With fantastic followings home AND away - most notably Huddersfield in the FA Cup first round - I believe the Blackpool fans are the noisiest and some of the most loyal fans in the land. As has been said many a time in the past, the fans are the 12th man and a loud, intimidating atmosphere - especially at home - has worked wonders in helping the lads on the pitch up their game and perform more consistently.
For the next two weeks, we question who would be the best loan player so far to "snap up" during the January transfer window;Ian Evatt, Wes Hoolahan, Carl Dickinson or Simon Gillett?
