'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Opposite Corner - Peter Jackson

Dissapointed

'It's a big disappointment coming here and getting beaten today. We had a mad 5 minutes in the five minutes but we got it back to 2-1 and I thought we could go on and get something from the game, but in the end three defensive errors have cost us. For the first, I think Nathan tried to step up and even if Parker was offside the goal stood. The second came about due to a sloppy ball by John McCombe and perhaps Aaron should have done better for the third.

Clinical Blackpool

'When you look at the game, Matt Glennon has not had a save to make all match but they were more clinical than us.

Good Points

'There were some good points but myself and the players are judged on getting results. Having said that, young Joe Skarz was outstanding at left-back. It's probably the best he has played since he came into the side. We expected Joe to be pushing for selection towards the end of the season but he has come in earlier and has done superbly - he's cool, his distribution is excellent and he's taken his chance well. Taking the three errors out there were positives, but obviously the down side is that we were beaten.

Credit Where Credit's Due

'I can never fault my side for showing lack of character as we always look determined. Credit to the 1600 fans that came with us today who sat through the match in appalling conditions and I'm sure they could see the never-say-die attitude that I always demand from my players.

Oldham...

'The game next Saturday at Oldham now becomes a must win game. It's still early days but it's important we perform and start getting results at home as we've been poor there so far.'
