'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Opposite Corner - Leyton Orient

The Orient Express...

Orients away form has been terrible. They haven`t picked up a point yet. Martin Ling said "We`ve had an open and honest discussion in there (the dressing room) and a few wounds have been opened. I`ve backed them to be capable of competing in this league and I still feel it can happen but they`re going to need a top up."

"There needs to be a couple of new faces coming into the squad otherwise it`s going to be too late."

Two Games...

Speaking about the game on Tuesday against Millwall, Ling added "If you look at the way they playted in the last 15 minutes on Tuesday (Orient scored 3 to draw) and compared that to the other you couldn`t say it was the same team."

And about the game on Saturday against The Seasiders "You couldn`t tell me that the same team has played well for the first 20 and not for the other 70."

Are They Fit Enough?

When asked about any possible lacking fitness of his side, the Leyton Orient manager said "It`s noting to do with fitness levels and strength levels - it`s all brain and we`re going out there feeling like we`re going to get beat before we`ve even started."

The Lads...

"I`ve got some honest boys in there (dressing room), but I`m not sure they`re being as hard on the pitch as they can be on each other on the football pitch."

The Goals...

Talking of the goals conceded, Ling adds "If you look at the goals, they`ve come from individual mistakes. It`s not good enough and they`ve been told as much."

Toronto's Thoughts...

Martin Ling is sounding very dejected. They were building the game up as a must win, so the result must have been a massive shock to the Orient system, as well as the Seaside system!!

Ling seemed to be scathing about some players, and lack of drive. This cannot be good for morale.

They sound like their start to the season has been even worse than ours (in respect to where they should be at this stage), and the general feeling from that interview is one of discontent.
