Leicester vs. Blackpool

The Walkers Stadium

11/08/007

15:00

Leicester V Pool

It`s the big start to the season, Pool`s first match in the Championship for 29 years, Martin Allen`s first match in charge of Leicester it all kicks off 3:00pm tomorrow!

Leicester Team News:

Martin Allen will have Gareth McAuley and Joe Mattock for selection as they have overcome pre-season injuries. He will be without two of his twelve summer signings Carl Cort and Hossein Kaebi miss out. Allen has admitted that there are still a few things that need sorting despite the big kick off being this Saturday but is confident that his team is raring to go.

Player to watch: DJ Campbell

Check, check, check the DJ out tomorrow,….sorry, DJ Campbell (no relation to me!) made a £1.6 move this summer to the Walkers. After only starting 19 games for Birmingham last season after his move from Brentford the striker will be looking to score his first goal for his new club.

Blackpool Team News:

We all know the team news for Blackpool, star man Wes Hoolahan doesn`t look like he`ll be playing with his transfer from Livingston still in limbo and in the hands of FIFA. All the summer signers are fit to play Stephen Crainey and Gary Taylor-Fletcher will make their debuts with Michael Flynn and John Hills making their second spell debuts.

As for the line up, it`s still not decided in the middle of the park but I`m going for:

Rachubka, Crainey, Evatt, Jackson, Barker, Hills, Southern, Fox, Taylor-Fletcher, Morrell and Parker.

Player to watch: John Hills

One of my favourite Pool players in my time of following, look out for the interplay with Crainey which has been developing and some decent crossing from the left-hand-side.

Match Facts & Stats

The sides last met in the league in the 1969-1970 season, 3-1 at Filbert Street and 1-1 at Bloomfield. You only have to go back to September 05 for the last meeting, Leicester winning 2-1 in the League Cup.
