Pool need to forget horror week at Peterborough

After a disastrous seven days, any Blackpool fan who claims not to be worried that a promotion bid could be about to derail has bigger nerve than I.

Revelations about the club's accounts have rumbled on with disenfranchised supporters seemingly having enough of the Oyston rein at Bloomfield Road. As well as that, it is well-publicised that Ian Holloway missed out on Robbie Fowler earlier in the week. And worst of all, the Seasiders lost away at Derby County on Tuesday night to all but end the possibility of automatic promotion.

However, all is not lost. In the previous two promotion campaigns (2007 and 2010) Pool succumb to defeats at lowly Rotherham United and Barnsley at almost identical times of the season. In true Question of Sport fashion: what happened next? We won. And we won well.

Vital Quotes:

Holloway, not for the first time this season, thinks differently to the editorial team of this very website.

'For me the top two places are still up for grabs.

'I think everyone is looking at the finish line now and thinking, 'Can we get over it?'

'I'm looking at Reading and the seven-game (winning) run they are on, and I'm thinking, can we do the same? We've got to have a good run at the tape now and see where we end up.

'I think there's an awful lot of exciting football to be played yet. It's OK for West Ham fans to think they've done it, but they haven't.

'Anyone in the top 12 can put a run together. I've never known a league like this.

'Southampton have been totally consistent and West Ham have been superb.

'We are trying to catch those teams and are going to have a good crack at it.'

Peterborough United Team News:

Lee Tomlin could be back for Posh after missing the last couple of matches, while Shaun Brisley - a recent signing from Macclesfield Town - may start at the back.

Player to watch: Grant McCann

McCann makes Peterborough tick. His speciality at dead ball situations make him eminently dangerous while his range of passing is to be admired.

Blackpool Team News:

I'm going to attempt to read Ollie's mind, so here goes...the probable team:

Gilks

Baptiste - Cathcart - Evatt - Crainey

Southern - Ferguson - Sylvestre

M Phillips - GTF - Lua Lua

Player to watch: Ludovic Sylvestre

After inexplicably being overlooked in the midweek defeat at Derby, Ludo should be back in the side.
