'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Blackpool vs. Liverpool

Bloomfield Road

26th December 2010

3pm

Preview: 'Pool v 'Pool

This game is subject to a midday pitch inspection, but should it go ahead it's undoubtedly our biggest Boxing Day game in a long, long time.

Liverpool will be the first of the 'big four' to travel to Bloomfield Road, and do so with an awful away record and with Blackpool looking to record a double over them after their 2-1 win at Anfield earlier in the season.

Let's hope that Santa still has three points left in his sack for us!

Vital Quotes:

Ian Holloway enjoyed the best Christmas Day of his managerial career yesterday:

'This is certainly just about the happiest I've been since I became a manager 15 years ago.

'Life in general feels so good at the moment, partly to do with the football and where the club is, and partly to do with my own circumstances.

'I am loving it here, and it's why when someone links me with another job, I tell them they're wasting their time.

'I feel comfortable here. It is the right club for me.'

Blackpool Team News:

Captain Charlie Adam is suspended, with Ludovic Sylvestre expected to deputise.

Matt Gilks, Chris Basham, Billy Clarke and Paul Rachubka are long term absentees, while the game might come too soon for Alex Baptiste, Marlon Harewood and Malaury Martin to return.

Player to watch: Ludovic Sylvestre

With Charlie Adam suspended, Ludo is expected to replace him.

A big game for the lad; we know he's a good player, but can he fill Charlie's boots?

Liverpool Team News:

Steven Gerrard returns, but Jamie Carragher is still crocked.

Daniel Agger and Fernando Torres are both also expected to return.

Player to watch: Steven Gerrard

The heartbeat of Liverpool's side, if anyone inspires Liverpool to victory today it'll be Gerrard.
