Blackpool vs. Wolves

Bloomfield Road

20/11/2010

15.00

Preview: Blackpool v Wolves

This is a six pointer, no question about it.

A win pulls us clear of the drop zone once more, but anything less and we're nervously looking over our shoulders.

And with a difficult run of fixtures in December, nobody wants that.

Mick McCarthy will have his side pumped up for this one after Ian Holloway's recent comments about his team selection against Manchester United last season, but the Seasiders have more than enough quality (on their day) to get the three points tomorrow.

Come On You 'Pool!

Vital Quotes:

Charlie Adam should be fit for the game despite picking up an injury in Scotland's midweek win over the Faroe Islands.

Speaking from the training ground yesterday, the 'Pool skipper said:

'I am a wee bit sore and stiff in the knee, but I should be OK for Saturday.

'We need to try to win every game, no matter who we are playing against. We will be preparing well for it and hopefully we will be ready.'

Blackpool Team News:

As above, Charlie Adam should be fit for the game. Matt Gilks, however, will not be. He has broken his kneecap and faces up to three months on the sidelines; a fact first revealed by this website. Expect Richard Kingson to deputise with young Mark Halstead coming onto the bench following his recall from Barrow.

Alex Baptiste may make the bench following his return to action in the reserves this week.

Player to watch: Richard Kingson

A big day for Ghana's number one.

He's not had a great club career at all, but he has one final shot at the Premier League with the Seasiders; can he take it or will the pressure be too much?

Wolves Team News:

Christophe Berra and Steven Mouyokolo returned to training this week and are expected to be available.

Ronald Zubar also returned to training, but the game has come too soon for him.

Jody Craddock and Dave Edwards remain on the sidelines however.

Player to watch: Karl Henry

Has little/no footballing ability, but his 'tackles' have the potential to disrupt the flow of the Seasiders' play.

Expect him to target Charlie boy, especially given his midweek injury.

Match Facts & Stats

Blackpool have 34 wins in this clash, compared to Wolves' 45. There have been 20 draws.

The last time the two sides met at Bloomers was in December 08/09. The game finished 2-2, with Taylor-Fletcher and Edwards earning a point for Tony Parkes' men.

Our biggest win over Wolves? 7-2 in 1961/2.

Next Fixtures:

Bolton away next week.

You are a bit in front of yourself ain't you, what a jumped up *****, if you think Henry has got no football ability what does that make Blackpool? apart from your rock (which is crap) and the fact that everybody goes there for a punch up - you have SFA, what have you ever won? what have you ever done in football besides exist? On a good day we should railroad you because you should NOT be in the prem, you are just jumped up little cretins form a small town in Lancashire. Has for targetting anybody (unlike pool) that is garbage, I just hope the true Wolves turn up for the match, apart from that our 2/3 thousand non ticket fans should have a good day. WE ARE WOLVES..........................

The views of one, johnwolf. The views of one. Yes, Henry has been in the limelight this season, but I'd say Cattermole is 10x worse than he. The Wolves players I'm worried about are Doyle & Fletcher (should they be playing). Doyle's pace can certainly rip our back-line to shreds, such is our lack of pace in central defence should the ball be played in behind us. I'm looking forward to the game. It will be interesting to see how far both sides have come since our last meeting at Bloomfield Road! As for us not "belonging in the premiership", pull the other one. We were promoted after a great end-of-seasonnrun & we play football in the right way. The likes of Stoke shouldn't be in the PL. They'd be more at home in the NFL.

johnwolf what you on.... how can you comment on football ability, did you not start the day below us in the table and finish it even further behind..we are in the prem , so how can you say we should not be.. we have the same right to be there as anyone.... and we played well to get there.... your 2000 fans went a bit quiet after about the third min.... not to worry, im sure that you will be able to beat at least some of the teams in the championship next season.... see ya soon when we come and beat you at your place....WE ARE BLACKPOOL...........................
