Southampton V Blackpool

Pool travel to the south coast for the Saturday morning kick off at St Mary`s in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Southampton Team News:

Manager Jan Poortvliet will call upon Michael Svensson and Chris Perry after the pair sat out the midweek cup win over Birmingham. Polish keeper Keeper Bartosz Bialkowski may make way for Kelvin Davis and 18 year-old Jamie White could play on the right wing in place the experienced Paul Wotton. Anthony Pulis signed today from Stoke goes into the squad.

After just avoiding the drop last season new manger Poortvliet has had an average start to the season after an opening day defeat to Cardiff. Two wins in the cup over Exeter and Birmingham. A home defeat to Birmingham was followed by 1-0 win at Derby.

Player to watch: David McGoldrick

After signing for the Saints in 2005 from Notts County the 20 year old spent time on loan at Notts County, Bournemouth and Port Vale. This season he`s managed to break into the first team and scored two goals, one on the opening day against Cardiff and the other the winner in the win over Derby.

Blackpool Team News:

Simon Grayson is set to give David Vaughan his first start. It`s not sure if Vaughan will replace Hammill on the left, or fit into a five man midfield leaving Ben Burgess upfront on his own. Stephen Crainey, Daniel Nardiello and Stephen McPhee are still injured. Keith Southern remains on the sideline sitting out match 3 of a 3 match ban.

Player to watch: David Vaughan

Hopefully he`ll start the game, from his cameo appearances from the bench he`s looked neat and positive. At home on either the left or center of midfield it` been over a year since the Welsh international started a league game in England.

Match Facts & Stats

The Saints took all three points at St Mary`s last season in a 1-0 win, goal from Stern John. Pool were denied a goal thanks to an awful decision form ref Iain Williamson. At Bloomers the two sides drew 2-2
