Norwich vs. Blackpool

Norwich V Blackpool

After the embarrassing midweek defeat to Macclesfield Pool travel to Norwich to face an old friend.

Norwich Team News:

After pulling Norwich out of the relegation zone last season Glenn Roader has built over the summer bringing in some impressive player. As we know former Pool favorite Wes Hoolahan moved early on for a small fee. Sammy Clingan, Dejan Stefanovic, David Bell and Stuart Nelson also joined on permanent deals. A further six players joined on loan deals including Arturo Lupoli from Fiorentina, John Kennedy from Celtic and the brilliantly named Troy Achibald-Henville from Spurs.

Despite all the signing Norwich lost their opening day game at Coventry 2-0 and were dumped out of the Cup 1-0 to League MK Dons on Tuesday night. So it looks like a similar story to Blackpool, lots of new faces but no goals.

Player to watch: Wes Hoolahan

Had to be the one to watch. Norwich managed to pick up the Rep Of Ireland international for a snip due to a clause in the former Pool player`s contract. Wes was including in the opening day team of the week, let`s hope that form doesn`t continue.

Blackpool Team News:

Keith Southern sits out match one of three after a stupid sending off against Macclesfield. Expect Rabs to return in goal to replace Gilks who didn`t impress in goal. Mo Camera may return after he was left out of the cup game, Jorgensen might return to the middle after a slight knock. Depending on the return a striker the front line up might be changed.

Player to watch: Danny Coid

With no return of Shaun Barker yet Coid has played at right back. This weekend Coid will be up against Hoolahan lets hope Blackpool`s longest serving player is up to the task.

Match Facts & Stats

Pool recorded a great victory at Norwich last season, a brace from McPhee earned the points with a second half spot kick from Cureton making things close in the second half.
