Macclesfield Town vs. Blackpool

Macclesfield V Blackpool

After defeat on the opening day of the season Pool travel to League Two Macclesfield for the first round of the League Cup

Macclesfield Town Team News:

Macc had an awful start to the season losing 4-0 at Shrewsbury on Saturday. The result wasn`t suppressing considering the investment in the Shrewsbury team over the summer. Simon Yeo may be given a place in the starting line up by manager Keith Alexandra who was adamant not to panic after the 4-0 defeat.

Player to watch: Terry Dunfield

There`s not many stars in the Macclesfield Town but Terry Dunfield has a little pedigree after starting his career at Manchester City.

Blackpool Team News:

Simon Grayson looks to be without Daniel Nardiello, Steve Kabba and Stephen Crainey. There`s no news at the moment if loan defender Mo Camera is able to play in the cup, however Sone Aluko on loan from Birmingham will be able to play and might start. It might be a chance for some other players to start their first game in Tangerine including keeper Matthew Gilks, David Vaughan, Alex Baptiste and Zeshan Rehman.

Player to watch: David Vaughan

He made a substitute appearance on Saturday but hopefully will be able start the game against Macclesfield Town.

Match Facts & Stats

The two sides have only met four times, back in the 98/99 season when Pool won both fixtures and in the season 00/01 season both sides won their home games 2-1.
