Blackpool vs. Wolves

Bloomfield Road

12/02/08

19:45

Blackpool V Wolves

After a draw at the weekend faltering Wolves visit Bloomfield Road, it could be a make or break game for under-pressure Wolves manager Mick McCarthy.

Blackpool Team News:

Kaspars Gorkss will be suspended for the match after a sending off in the Hull game. Gorkss will also miss the Ipswich game at the weekend. Michael Jackson should replace Gorkss in the middle of defense. Steven McPhee is back after he missed the Hull game due to a gentleman's agreement between Hull and Blackpool as part of his transfer.

Player to watch: Paul Dickov

It`s been a great start to his stay at Bloomfield Road, a goal in his first game after coming on from the bench and then a brace in his first start against Hull on Saturday gone. It might be the case that Dickov will start upfront with Steven McPhee after a poor performance from Ben Burgess at the weekend.

Wolves Team News:

Midfielder Seyi Olofinjana is back from the African Nations Cup after playing for Nigeria. He is due to be part of the squad but is not expected to start. Defender Gary Breen missed the last match against Stoke and will probably miss the match.

One piece of good news, for Blackpool that is, Michael Kightly is out with ankle problems. Freddy Eastwood, Stephen Elliott, Darren Potter and Kevin Kyle will be all hoping to start upfront with Ebanks-Blake

Wolves have lost two games on the bounce, 3-0 away to Watford and then 4-2 at home to Stoke. Wolves are two points from the play-offs and there has been growing dissent from the Molineux faithful at manager Mick McCarthy.

Player to watch: Sylvain Ebanks-Blake

Blake signed from Plymouth in the January transfer window and has grabbed two goals in 5 games. One of the goals was a 90th minute winner over Sheffield Wednesday. Playing upfront with Kevin Kyle, a littleish and large combination.

Match Facts & Stats

The sides met in glorious sunshine at Molineux in August, Pool took the lead through Gary Taylor-Fletcher. Pool should have doubled the lead when David Fox missed a sitter from 10 yards out. Freddy Eastwood then took the game to the away side smashing goals in on 69 and 79 minutes. Wolves last visit to Bloomfield Road was in the 0ld division three in 1989, they came away with a 2-0 win.

The first paragraph makes it sound like Wolves got a draw at the weekend, when in fact they were well and truly beaten.

The return of Mr Kyle should be very interesting!

Going to be a tight game tonight and can see this ending in a 2-2 draw!

Me I am going to stretch this one, and with a few changes from the start as mentioned in the article I think we may grab this one 2-1 pool...
