Hull vs. Blackpool

KC Stadium

09/02/08

15:00

Hull V Pool

Blackpool travel to the KC 'four sided' Stadium this weekend looking to but further points on the board, while Hull look towards the play-offs.

Hull Team News:

Hull will be without winger Richard Garcia who travelled home to Australia on compassionate grounds. Henrik Pedersen may start in defense if Andy Dawson doesn`t recover from a groin injury.

Hull have won two games on the trot in the league, beating Coventry at the KC and Plymouth away, both 1-0 wins. They currently sit eighth in the league on 44 points and a win with other results going their way could see them in the play-offs by 5 o'clock.

Player to watch: Dean Windass

This man will not stop, 38 years old and he`s the top scorer for his home town club. After signing from Bradford the big man helped keep the side up last season and he picked up from last season by bagging 9 goals so far in the league. His last goal came in the last outing, a 1-0 win over Plymouth.

Blackpool Team News:

Once again Keith Southern is the only doubt, he`s been making his way back from an ankle injury and played his second reserve match this week against Accrington. Stuart Green, an ex Hull player is still to make his debut and could be included in the match sixteen.

Player to watch: Gary Taylor-Fletcher

cracking goal on Saturday and another gut busting performance which again ended in being substituted. He`s now got the added pressure of Stuart Green who will be looking for a place in the team but with three goals this season he`s on par with Jorgi and Flynn for goals from midfield.

Match Facts & Stats

The sides met in front of the Sky Sports cameras this season, the match will be remembered for an almighty clash of heads between Kaspars Gorkss and Caleb Folan. Gorkss bust his head open while Folan had to be stretched off the pitch and left for the Vic in an ambulance. All this meant a lot of extra time which allowed Ben Burgess to grab a winner deep into the time added on. The score ended 2-1 after Fletch put Pool ahead only for Ashbee to equalize.

Blackpool are yet to win at the KC stadium, their only visit in 2004 ended in a 2-1 defeat.
