Pool V Leicester

After a manic transfer deadline day thoughts turn back to football with Pool looking for a league double over Leicester.

Blackpool Team News:

Simon Grayson has a trio of new players to pick from. Paul Dickov (Manchester City) and Pavels Steinbors (FK Jurmala) signed on loan, Stuart Green (Crystal Palace) permanent, go into the squad for selection. The only player to leave Bloomfield Road was Scott Vernon who joined Colchester United.

Keith Southern played a full 90 minuets midweek in a reserve match, he`s still way from the first team action. Gary Taylor-Fletcher should be fit after missing out in the Bristol City match

Player to watch: Stuart Green

Green signed an 18 month contract at Bloomfield Road yesterday after leaving Crystal Palace. He started his career at Newcastle as a trainee. He was loaned out to Carlisle and then Hull, where he signed in 2003. He left Hull in the summer of 2006 for Palace. After only 12 league starts he joins the Seasiders, the right-sided winger may start his first game this Saturday.

Leicester Team News:

Ian Holloway brought in Jamie Clapham yesterday from Wolves he goes into the match squad. Darren Kenton and Alan Sheehan left for Leeds, Alan Maybury for Aberdeen and Billy McKay to Hinckley.

Defender Richard Stearman overcomes a knee problem to be in the match squad.

Player to watch: Steve Howard

With three managers this season so far (there may be another change yet!) the squad is rather large at Leicester. Holloway has added a few, the most expensive being Steve Howard from Derby. The big forward signed after a short loan spell and grabbed his first goal against Coventry in a 2-0 win.

Match Facts & Stats

The sides met at the Walkers on the opening day of the season in the sunshine. After a surprise like no other with Wes Hoolahan trotting onto the pitch Pool went on to ride their luck and pick up a 1-0 win with a goal from Keith Southern.
