The third game in a week sees fellow strugglers QPR visit Bloomfield Road who haven't won in four games.
Tony McMahon has returned to Boro, his hamstring injury picked up in the Southampton means he won't be fit again in his loan period. Ben Burgess scored in the reserve match against Carlisle, he should be able to start the game on the bench but won't dislodge Bart who scored on his home debut. The back four did well, with Coid (the real MOM) and Crainey doing really well. In the middle Wes impressed in the first half but a lack of final product in the second half was disappointing. Evatt and Forbes may also return to the match 16.
Fact - GTF has not played a full 90 mins at home in the league, he's been substituted in every league game. He played the full 90 in the League Cup gain against Huddersfield. On Tuesday GTF was replaced on 66 minuets by Andy Welsh after impressing in the second half. It seems a strange decision considering Fletcher is goal scorer (not prolific) and it's goals we're lacking.
Palace haven't performed since Luigi De Canio took over from John Gegory, five games, one win, two draws and two games lost. None of QPR players have managed to score more than two goals this seasons, which is one of the reasons why 9 players have been brought in on loan, the pick Ben Sahar and Scott Sinclair from Chelsea and Rowan Vine from Birmingham. Vine who moved to Birmingham last year for £2.5 has scored two goals in 10 games. Fellow striker Dexter Blackstock is suspended after a red card in the Stoke match. Michael Mancienne and Akos Buzsaky are doubts with injuries.
The young winger has been compared to Theo Walcott, a product of the Bristol Rovers academy Sinclair signed for Chelsea in the Summer of 2005. He grabbed his first taste of league experience with Plymouth last season, scoring two goals in the league and two in the F.A. Cup, once a sensational run from the halfway line with a deft finish. Since moving on loan to QPR Sinclair has scored one goal in four starts.
The two teams have met a few times in recent years, when Q.P.R. were in League One, in the six games QPR won 5 games with one draw. The last meeting in the 03/04 season saw a 5-0 drubbing at Loftus Road and at Bloomfield a 1-0 win for the away side thanks to Martin Rowlands. The last win at home for the Seasiders against QPR was in 1972 a 2-0 home win.
