West Brom vs. Blackpool

The Hawthorns

WBA V Pool

The Seasiders are looking for a first win in seven league games at the Hawthorns, WBA haven`t lost a home game yet and have only conceded two goals at home.

West Brom Team News:

Albion have yet to lose at home in the league this season and only have conceded two, one in the 5-1 thrashing of QPR and the last match a 1-1 draw with Stoke. Top scorers, as expected Kevin Phillips with 7 (5 at home) and with 4 goals Ishmael Miller who is on loan from Manchester City.

Craig Beattie will miss the match with illness, Martin Albrechtsen and on-loan forward Ishmael Miller are fit after picking up injuries at the weekend. Manager Mowbray may look at changing things at the back after shipping three at the weekend.

Player to watch: Kev Phillips

He`s starting to go a little grey but he`s still got the touch a fantastic finish at the weekend was his seventh of the season. Last year he grabbed 22 goals and he`s well on the way to reach that figure this season.

Blackpool Team News:

It`s now seven games in the league since the over Hull on Sky. With Morrell out and Burgess still out with an ankle knock things are getting desperate. Vernon and Parker haven`t grabbed a league goal so far this season, sorry to be the messenger of doom and gloom.

But the midfield have grabbed goals so far Fox 1, Hoolahan 2, Fletcher 2 and Southern 1 so all hope is not lost! Grayson is still looking at bringing another player in on loan so it`s not all D + G. Marcus Bean has returned from his loan spell with the Millers, he might go into the match sixteen.

Player to watch: David Fox

There was a piece in the match programme on saturday about Fox`s style of play, quietly going about his job in the middle of the park, efficiently keeping the game flowing from the middle of the park. Foxy grabbed his first goal of the season latching onto a deflection from a free kick and slotting in past three players (Welsh take note).

Match Facts & Stats

It's a while since the two sides met, 1993 was the last meeting in the league, then league one. A two 2-1 win at home and a 3-1 defeat at the Hawthorns.
