Scunthorpe vs. Blackpool

Glanford Park

Scunthorpe V Pool

Pool take on inform Scunthorpe in the Friday night kick-off at Glanford Park, striker Andy Morrell is struggling to make the match with a back strain.

Scunthorpe Team News:

Ian Baraglough is expected to replace Matt Sparrow who suffered knee damage in a recent game against Carlisle.

Former Pool loanee Ian Morris is looking to force his way back into the starting eleven against his former team mates.

Scunthorpe are currently sitting behind Forrest in second place, only five points behind the leagues big boys. They have only lost one game at home in the league to Brighton back in October.

Player to watch: Ian Morris

Many thought it was a mistake that Simon Grayson turned down the opportunity to sign the winger in the Summer from Leeds. What we didn`t know was that Simon had another Irish winger lined up, Wes Hoolahan who has turned out to be a revelation at Bloomfield Road this season.

Morris had made thirteen starts this season, scoring in two games, his last coming in that emphatic 4-0 away win over Nottingham Forrest.

Blackpool Team News:

Simon Grayson might be forced into one change if Andy Morrell doesn`t recover from a back strain. Morrell was replaced at half time in the Swansea game by Ben burgess, but it would be expected that top scorer, and Saturday`s scorer Scott Vernon would take the place of the former Coventry player.

Player to watch: Adrian Forbes

Forbes picked up a man-of-the-match award for his performance against former employees Swansea City. Hopefully the likeable right winger will be able to continue his form into the game on Friday night.

Match Facts & Stats

Last season the match between Blackpool and Scunthorpe heralded the beginning of the Simon Grayson era at Bloomfield Road. The match will go down in history not only for being Grayson`s first game in charge but also the brilliant performance that was displayed in front of the Sky cameras. Pool beat Scunthorpe 5-2, with the icing on the top being a fantastic goal from now Iron Ian Morris.

The last time the two sides met at Glanford Park a late goal from Billy Sharp was enough for all three points for Scunny.

Huge game, as they all are really. We don't want to be losing and going further behind the chasing playoff pack...
