Pool Vs Oldham

It's another massive match for the Pool this weekend, North-West rivals Oldham Athletic are the visitors to Bloomfield Road

Blackpool Team News:

It looks like manager Simon Grayson will have the luxury of being able to keep the same eleven which started the game on Tuesday night. Once again Adrian Forbes (groin), John Murphy (back), Matt Blinkhorn (groin), Phil Doughty (leg) and Simon Wiles (knee) will all be missing.

Player to watch: Ben Burgess

He`s still looking for his first goal for the club and came close against Chesterfield, could the first one come against Oldham on Saturday

Oldham Team News:

Oldham will be with out former Pool winger Paul Edwards who suffered a knee injury in the 2-0 win over Nottingham Forrest on Tuesday night. The will a fight for a starting place up front with Chris Porter with Lewis Grabban and Paul Warne the contenders. Chris Taylor and Craig Rocastle will be vying for a place on the subs bench.

Player to watch: Richie Wellens

The former Pool man will be trying his best to put one over his former employees, look out for great passing, neat trick but also that temper.

Match Facts & Stats

Last season the sides managed to grab home wins. In the encounter at Bloomfield Road a cracking thirty-yard strike from loanee Lewis Gobern was enough to split the two sides. In the reverse fixture Athletic ran out 3-1 winners. Pool had taken the lead with a goal from Keith Southern, but a hattrick from Luke Becket now of Huddersfield secured the points for the home side

Should be a good game. Good to see Scott Vernon again. Ben Burgess wasn't much cop when we had him. Heres hopin Richie has a good game ;). Right about the referee, looks like ther could be a few bookings.

It won't happen, but I hope that the Blackpool fans don't spend the emtire match boo'ing Wellens. Some fans seem to ignore the fact that he applauded us after the same game last season. We need to concentrate on the present players not throw abuse at a former player. No doubt we will end up with yet another home draw! I'd love to see us win and will well. Especially with Valery Belokon flying in and there being a Board Meeting tomorrow with him and Normund Malnacs no doubt expressing concern to Karl Oyston about the current situation. But still good to know VB is coming over again!

As usual a v.good report, I could not understand the decision by the ref, I also believe from where I was sat a few fans thought that our goal got a deflection from ritchie. I nearly predicted right when I said Wellens would be sent of in this game, as tempers flared Wellens face was distorted with rage, I'll give him some credit which was that he showed he is a great midfielder he was commanding the oldham side from the off, In my opinion we have not replaced him. Good performance in the first, but the second not to good, all in all very frustrating.

Impressive match prediction, John. And Wellens as Player To Watch. Excellent!

Wellens says - "I used to play with Becks you know.." Essex says - " I used to drink strong lager not play with it" Onwards + Upwards
