Blackpool vs. Chesterfield

Bloomfield Road

12/09/06

19:45

Pool V Chesterfield

With only one win in four games the pressure is on Simon Grayson to take all three points on Tuesday night against Chesterfield.

Blackpool Team News:

It looks like there will be changes from the side that lost out to Port Vale at the weekend. Danny Coid might start in place of Paul Tierney who had a torrid time at left back on Saturday and was subsequently replaced by Coid at half time.

There might be changes upfront with Vernon and Morrell losing their places to Parker and Burgess.

Player to watch: Wes Hoolahan

One of the few positives from the match on Saturday, the winger has shown glimpses of what he can do but needs to start producing the crucial final ball.

Chesterfield Team News:

The Spireites have had a good start to the season notching up some impressive victories, 0-3 over Bournemouth, 5-1 over Millwall. But thy have suffered defeats to Vale, Tranmere and a 4-0 thumping to Forrest.

Manager Roy McFarland has a full squad to pick from apart from Alex Bailey who is suffering from a groin injury.

Player to watch: Caleb Folan

From eight games this season Forlan has hit the net three times, with his last goal coming in the weekend win over Rotherham.

Match Facts & Stats

Amazingly this is the thirteen season in a row that the two sides have played each other. Last season Chesterfield were the first team to visit Bloomfield Road. Keigan Parker gave Pool a great start to the season with an early goal. But goals from Alison, DeBolla and Blatherwick secured the opening day points for the Spireites.

In the reverse fixture the points were shared, Sammy Clingan now of Nottingham Forrest gave the Blues an early lead. Donnelly and Shane Nicholson then copied the Soccer Am wrestlers in the middle of the pitch earning them both an early bath. Pool squared the match up with a goal from loanee Gary Hawkins.

I see Paul Shaw returned to the side with a goal at the weekend. We certainly need to be on our guard against him tomorrow.

On guard!!!! Anything less than 3 points tomorrow will be a disaster IMO.
