Blackpool vs. Swansea

The Swans And Seasiders

I feel like I am continually repeating myself, but Saturday is massive. Swansea, who's automatic promtion push has fallen over in recent weeks, will not fancy the trip to Bloomers, somewhat of a fortress of late for pool.

Vital Quotes:

Simon Grayson on Neil Woods: 'He just hasn't been picked, never regained the sharpness after the suspension'

But the news is that: 'Woody will be round and about it (the squad) over the next 2, 3 games.'

He did say however: 'I've not had any disagreements with him.'

Blackpool Team News:

This week Phil Horner has been very busy, with Rory Prendergast, Ian Morris, John Murphy, Sam Stockley and Keith Lasley all keeping the physio on his toes through the week. Andy Taylor is training at Blackburn now, trying desperately to get fit again before Saturday.

Suprisingly manager Simon Grayson hopes every one of those players will be back for the game.

Out: Danny Coid (Ankle)
Phil Doughty (Leg)

Doubts: John Murphy,
Rory Prendergast,
Ian Morris,
Sam Stockley,
Keith Lasley,
Andy Taylor,

Player to watch: Not Sure This Week.....

It'll have to be the 'ginger ninja' Gareth Williams. The one real goal threat in the side, and I think we'll need to score numerous goals to win. The reason being I don't think the defence will cope with Trundle and Knight.

Swansea Team News:

After their victory on Tuesday night at home to Swindon, Kenny Jackett has no new injury worries ahead of the game. They will assess the fitness of midfielder Kristian O'Leary, but that is the only worry for The Swans. Keith Lowe has been recalled by Wolves after a loan spell.

Doubt: Kristian O'Leary

Player to watch: Not Lee Trundle.....

But that small, sharp little nipper Leon Knight. I still remember how he tore us apart for Huddersfield at the grand opening of the new stands back in February 2002, when Rhys Day had a nightmare at the back for The Seasiders. Hopefully this won't be repeated.

Match Facts & Stats

Saturday 1st October

Swansea City 3 v 2 Blackpool

Trundle, Akinfenwa and Britton for Swansea, with Parker and Donnelly twice equalising for 'pool.

Ref Watch:

Fourth Official : B Roberts Bates was in charge for Swansea's 7-1 trashing of Bristol City this year, lets hope he isn't their lucky referee.

Match Prediction:

From the swansea site, "Supporters are reminded that Saturday's game at Blackpool is all-ticket. No tickets will be sold on the day. They will be available from the Liberty Stadium ticket office until 4pm on Friday. Swansea have already sold around 1,700 tickets for the open air stand. Gonna be a bumped crowd!!!
