First off, HNY all. Hope despite the poor results you've enjoyed the festive period.

The transfer window has creaked open and whilst everything is obviously up in the air given the ownership and we don't know whether Bowyer will be able to wheel and deal this month, it's probably worth taking a look and what business he could do as there's definitely holes in the team (as the recent poor run shows).

Goalkeeper wise, I think we're suffering from Bowyer not getting his first choice in the summer (Gillespie). Allsop is crap. Despite impressing me in pre-season, Williams has been crap since Allsop was dropped. The African lad looked like your typical loose cannon African keeper to me in pre-season, and you've got Myles Boney. I'd be looking to re-jig this position completely if possible, as well as looking at whether the GK Coach (who recommended Allsop) is doing the business.

Defence wise, right full back is sorted with Mellor and the excellent Turton. If Mellor starts it must be at right back though, and not further forward.
Left back, think Taylor will do a job until the summer and then be gone. Daniel was one of my favourite players last season, but hasn't done the business at either left back or left midfield. He still looks good at wing back but we've rarely used them this year. Again, I'd keep him until the summer. Anderton impressed me in pre-season but looked overweight and off the pace at Doncaster. Left back definitely on the shopping list in the summer.
Like all three of our centre backs, but would definitely add a fourth - preferably someone experienced who might be able to stamp out the errors we keep making.

Midfield has looked unbalanced all season despite the talent we have in there. Bowyer really needs to settle on and develop how he wants to play, particularly in this area.
Now McAllister has got fit I'd get rid - well down the pecking order. Like Sessi, Ryan, Cooke and Spearing but want to see more from them in second half of the season. Really hope we can extend Longstaff's loan.
Think Viv could have big second half of the season, but we definitely need more down the flanks. Clayton appears to be miles away and must be on decent money - I'd get rid. Quigley is miles away too - I would loan him out. Delf sadly offers little bar effort. I like Menga but he needs polish.
Up top we all know we're at our best when Vass and Cullen are fit. Philliskirk has does well and I still think Armand offers something. Definitely need another striker though.

So in conclusion:
I'd get rid of Allsop and Williams on the proviso that we can bring in a better keeper.
I'd bring in a centre half.
I'd get rid of McAllister, Clayton and Quigley (the latter on loan) and bring in two wingers.
I'd bring in a striker.

So that's 5 in, 5 out (one on loan).

can't argue with that. Hoping Matt isn't coming back. Think the problems are that I can't see any money or interest from the O's and who would want any of the players you suggest we release?

Happy New Year hoping we get new owners soon and a fresh start

pretty much bob on, i think Taylor will be kept and join the coaching staff ( not that i want that )
i dont see the spearing / ryan midfield pairing working, they are to samey we can only have one general. ryan for me.
Daniels is one id keep, at left mf and mr versatile, a luxury we can afford whrn we get an injury during a match more often than not he can be moved to allow our formation to remain or change for me as good as an on field sub... ( maybe give him a shot in goal )

quigley, can we afford to give him a run, possibly not now but when were safe id have him in, only seen him sub at charlton but liked what i saw.

Matt with Grimsby for the season, then out of contract. We'll not see him in tangerine again.

I agree regarding Quigley. Welsh nonleague to 3rd Div is a big jump. Somewhere like Moreycambey on loan would hopefully build his confidence- his positionial sense is woeful.

Anderton is one for the future.

I'd start Spearing over Ryan every day of the week. Ryan sits far too deep. His trying to trick his way out if the box cost us goals v Wiggun and Pompey.

Clayton has been a huge disappointment. Either loan or get shut.

I bet Vass will be fit soon - interesting to see if his injuries are festive seasonal next year.

We need a player who can carry the ball forward from.midfield - Longstaff is back to form and I really do hope he stays.
Keeper - people screamed for Williams but he goes down slower than tbe Amaco Cadiz.anytjing low to his left on target is a goal.

I think the Os will be inbolved transfer / loan eise as the clubs more vauable as a 3rd Div asset thsn a 4th
Probably a couple of million at least between the divs and every penny counts .

Said it before safety and the Os gone is a good result this season. Pity though as this division is poor and a fully fit squad we eould have been right up there

Unfortunately, we have too many players out of contract at the end of the season (including many of our better players) and a few may leave this window, knowing the Os

Would cost too much. I've taken view that if we do anything it'll be frees, loans or nominal fees.
