One forced my conservatory door last night at 3.00 am. Fortunately, when my night owl son looked through the window to see what the noise was he calmly disappeared. Highly unsettling experience!

Got burgled when I lived in Thornton took money but all but a couple of CD's which left me slightly annoyed.
Got some CD's back and had to sign a form to say they were mine. At the bottom of the firm was the address they were found at on Rossendale North Av.
So changed my route to work to see were the scrotes lived. One day went passed said address and somebody had bricked the windows and the satisfaction I felt was immense

Why anyone would take your CD collection is a mystery Mac.

Perhaps it was something decent like; The Stranglers, The Clash, The Vibrators, The Sex Pistols, Xray Spex....

Sorry to hear that.
We were burgled when we lived in Sale about 32 years ago. It was a Friday night and the only time we hadn't left some lights on to make it look like the house was occupied whilst we had gone up for the night to stay with my parents in Thornton. They forced the security lock on the rear high level kitchen window to get in. They took some cash and some inexpensive costume jewellery and bizarrely the had taken the TV upstairs to try to get it out of one of the bigger upstairs windows but had clearly given up at some stage. Our next door neighbour was a copper and hadn't heard anything but he did spot the forced window the following day and you could see the boot marks where they had jumped out of one of the upstairs windows to get out. It turned out that a gang had come across from Liverpool and burgled 26 properties in our area on the same night. One local resident had thought it was odd when two men were transporting a freezer in a wheelbarrow at 2am that night but the silly sod hadn't reported it. They caught most of the gang subsequently but we never got anything back. My wife washed and scrubbed everything in the house and never felt completely comfortable in that house again because our 'space had been violated'.
Mind you we were lucky. The best man at our wedding was burgled over 20 years ago when he, his wife and his 2 young kids were sleeping upstairs at their house in Cleveleys. They were awoken by glass smashing and he went down to investigate and found someone trying to get out of the kitchen window after taking some stuff from the lounge. He struggled with the guy and got stabbed in his leg and his bare feet badly cut on the broken glass. Despite this he chased the burglar, who was now outside, down the road and towards the seafront. The police had been called and they picked up the chase. The burglar was high as a kite on drugs and ended up going into the sea to try to escape, being eventually arrested / rescued by the police in a lifeboat, which had been called out. My friend was in hospital for a week and then a few weeks at home recovering from his wounds. The case eventually went to Preston Crown Court and the guy got 3 years. A scumbag.

I myself was burglarised when I lived in Preston in the early 90's. Came home from work and the back conservatory door had been forced and the inner door glass smashed. Took TV, stereo, guitar etc etc etc. We all knew (including the coppers) who had done it and they lived just around the corner - right pair of shits they were, but couldn't be proved.

Neither could it be proved who threw a brick through their front window and slashed the tyres on their beloved Ford Escort......

Is that why you ended up on convict island?
Is it safe out there crime wise?

I suppose per head of capita it's probably the same as the UK for crime although a break-in can make national news. We don't have the same sort of car theft as I used to know in the UK but we have a HUGE problem with drugs - 75% of people under 25 are allegedly on ice (meth)....
