A Green Luddite,
It is possible to protest without disrupting those going about their lawful business .......

Lawful does not always equate to moral right. The police and the courts are there to determine matters of law; it isn't down to folk like you.

Bear, you can't appeal to a human's kindness when they are a nasty, selfish old doffer. This bloke is a horrible old troll.

He needs a Billy Goat Gruff to pay him a visit. A Troll bridge operator is an obvious alternative career for a parking warden.

I've been reading stories from my position in another continent that the main road had been closed several times again!

When I return I certainly won't slow down if the eejit's are on the road.

I see the anti frackers have lost their latest high court battle.

"Campaigners fighting a Government decision to give the go-ahead for a fracking site in Lancashire have lost their High Court action. The Preston New Road Action Group (PNRAG) and campaigner Gayzer Frackman had made a legal challenge, saying that the planning application for the site in Fylde was not fair or lawful. Read the reaction to today’s result here At a hearing at Manchester Civil Justice Centre last month, Mr Justice Dove was told that the planning application by developer Cuadrilla was refused by Lancashire County Council in 2015, but later granted following an appeal and a planning inquiry. The scheme was given the go-ahead last October by Communities Secretary Sajid Javid.

I don't know if you've seen any of the videos taken by the fracking protestors? They are claiming Police heavy handedness but from what I can see on the videos and first hand are a rent a mob who are goading the Police and calling them all sorts of stuff whilst they are only trying to get them off the road to keep them and others safe. Why not go and chain themselves to their MP's railings or protest safely?

The only people who ever protest are the great un-washed unemployed. They're the only ones with time on their hands TO protest.....

Bob, I really do value the right to protest but these lot do fit your profile. Most arrested have no fixed abode and are seemingly career protesters who have lots of time to sit around for weeks on end. Millionaires perhaps who don't need to work and like the smell of their own body odour?

You try to have a different view than them on forums or social media and apparently the 99% of folk different minded to them are the fascists, stupid, uneducated . . .

They have become a real scourge locally, pissed off big time with the only main road being shut off whilst these dickheads run the Police ragged and laugh at us all trying to earn a wage and pay for all the Policing costs. Of course we don't want the environment disaster they are scaring us with but locally I feel they are losing support and sympathy.

We have a lot of 'protest groups' here in Oz and they're always protesting about something. The latest thing they've got hold of is a large open cut coal mine in Central Queensland that will create a few thousand jobs but apparently may cause ground water to be discoloured.
They always seem to protest on a Wednesday when everyone else is at work....

Blackpool is closed again.

Fracking protesters have shut down the A583 and the M55 is closed both ways after an accident.

Would that be the one that will destroy some uniquely fertile farmland and require a deep water port to ship the coal to China's polluting power stations using giant vessels that will threaten to finish off the Great Barrier Reef? You lot down there are the first to whinge when extreme weather events exact nature's vengeance.

Bear no one objects to the protests if peaceful and not disruptive but yesterday as Laytons post says they made a bad situation worse...

And a post by an anti fracking protestor:

"Good timing chaps
Chaos will be caused by the crash on the M55 !"

A 53 year old van driver was killed!

Cyclone Debbie actually did the reef good as it washed away millions of crown of thorn starfishes....

If I walked up and down the middle of the A583 I would either be seriously injured or locked up....I would not have Police team protecting me from the traffic ,those who disrupt the traffic etc should be prosecuted...y
