Bad news Hasty (well sort of) if you bought a OnePlus3. They've made it obsolete within months with a better model!

No doubt like your LG they are ready to boost their prestige in the market by slowly raising prices. Seriously I'd still be interested to see how they stack up.

----------

Now you can’t buy the OnePlus 3. Instead, OnePlus has decided to replace it with an even better version: the OnePlus 3T. The 3T shares many of the same qualities as the 3, including the same materials and design; same size and resolution display; same 6GB of RAM; and same rear camera. But it has an even faster processor, a bigger battery, a better front camera, an option for more internal storage, and a new, darker gray color option.

Thanks for that Layton I'd missed it. I have decided to nothing at the mo to see what happens. Prices are stupid and unnecessary. Perhaps Wileyfox will get its act together and I can buy a British phone

Nice one!

Honest review of my flagship Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge:

Great build quality, fast, gets very hot after 10 minutes of heavy use and battery drains by 10%. The camera is incredible. Overall, it's OK but for £549 it is pretty overpriced when I reckon I'll be ditching it after 12 months like I have my last 3 or 4 handsets.

The S7 edge is the most sexy of all, As you say good build but probably also the best resolution. I fell out with my S5 and put me off Samsung. Hoping the Pixel will be a truly pure android. Doesn't look inspiring and probably a bit Apple to look at but I love the spec of it.

Don't know if you've made the purchase yet Hasty, but I thought it would be worth mentioning that Mrs L has just acquired a Samsung A series handset. She went for the smaller A3 and I can report that the build quality is every bit as good as my S7 Edge. The pictures are great too, very high spec camera on it. And most of the apps and functions I have on my S7 Edge are there too. I'd say it's an ideal handset if you are not a heavy user, the battery life seems to be incredible.

went for the Pixel, v happy with it. There is a big choice and you can spend silly money that's for sure. I'll have a look at the Samsung though out of curiosity.

No personal experience. My mate bought one for his mother and thought it OK. It really boils down to what you are going to use a smartphone for in the same way as a PC. I use mine a lot I have a 4 hour commute for example so use it all the time for music, surfing, mail etc.

A really good medium priced phone is the oneplus 3, it costs about £300 and you can go sim free. The do a oneplus 3t but it probably isn't worth the extra money. If you are happy with a contract there are loads of great deals but what you going to use it for and are you a phone snob?

Deffo not a phone snob. Got a SIM only deal for £5...unlimited texts and calls plus 500 gigafingies which I don't use as I'm on an old Nokia flip top with a tiny screen.

Just entered the 21st century via a gift of a kindle and am filled with the enthusiasm of yoof for this new technology. It would be good not to have to cart my Asus 7" tablet around so a smart phone seems a good idea.

Put that way then I suppose I am to some a phone snob, so much so that I'm disappointed that my top of the range smartphone still cannot match my insatiable appetite for technology. That said I think that makes me a fan of technology with the disposable income to purchase the very best handset on the market. Similarly I've been called a coffee snob, a holiday snob etc. Is it really snobbery if you choose to spend your personal expenditure on items that you admire, appreciate and enjoy and are within your budget?

Similarly I see people spending £300 on a Dyson vaccum cleaner which we have at work and are terrible. Our £60 Vax cleaner is far better. Perhaps they are vacuum cleaner snobs?

Love that post. My Henry knocks Dyson's plastic carp into a cocked hat.

I love good coffee too.

I guess snobs are folks who have what they think they ought to rather than appreciating the intrinsic merits of things or folks who will only buy trendy brands to be seen carrying their advertising around on them?

My S6 Edge is almost at the end of it's 2 yr deal, I've seen nothing to replace it and will drop to a cheaper sim only deal. I'd never go back to apple.

I don't drink coffee but boy oh boy I've become a coat snob with my footy coat
