His rebuilding of schools,hospitals etc was ruined by the method of provision ,lease back that costs a fortune and is draining the health and education budgets..

Fair point Prem but as the Tories had left the finances in such a parlous state what alternative did he have? Let them continue to crumble or increase taxes and become "unelectable"? Personally I believe he should have taxed corporations more fairly and not been so frightened about increasing income tax by a penny.

No that was Brown his comrade in arms,who did at least stop teflon Tony from taking us into the Euro .......
The advent of the credit card as a lot to answer for,far better when a deposit was needed for luxury goods..

No they saved for a deposit like my wife and I rather than go into dept for mobile phones,or go out for take aways if you could not afford it you did without.

Replied Seb. Maybe I didn't acknowledge the point you were making in full, suffice to say we seem to be stuck with only one alternative to the Selfservatives and they aren't very good as a credible opposition.
