Rather than the purchase of just the football team the Russian bid headed by Angelo Bogeov will now try to purchase the team, ground and the rest of the facilities associated to the club.
Pool fan and local business man Tony Barnes has acted as a middle man between the club and the consortium, he today commented to the Evening Gazette. “Following extensive talks in Bulgaria, the Russian/Bulgarian consortium has agreed that, in the best interests of Blackpool Football Club and its future success, their best option is to bid for the club in its entirety.”
'That's everything and not just the football side of the business – lock, stock and barrel as it were and its very important to stress this point.”
'To this effect they authorised me to contact the Oystons to request a direct link between the two parties and access to the club accounts and all other appropriate documentation.”
'I spoke to Karl on Monday evening and he agreed to furnish our people with whatever information they require. I know that direct contact was made between Angelo Bogeov and Karl Oyston on Tuesday.”
'However both Karl and our people have said that once direct contact has been established and discussions opened, the next step will be for the Russians to liaise with the club accountant and that a face-to-face meeting between them and the Oystons will follow. Things are definitely moving up a gear.'
