Blackpool's Belgian Trialist

Simon Grayson has taken Belgian defender, Pieter Collen on trial from Feyenoord.

A statement on the Feyenoord website reads, excusing the translation:

Pieter Collen have set off Sunday to Blackpool for a training period. In the test period, which lasts up to and including next week Monday, the verdediger tries enforce a contract at the club from the British Championship. Collen can look forward to of Feyenoord to another club. The British Championship are the divisie under the Premier League. Blackpool stand after two games eighth, with four points.

Collen has played for his country twice, starting his career at his hometown club, K.A.A. Gent. He enjoyed a successful time at NAC Breda, and was transfered onto Feyenoord where the 27 year old has only managed ten games in two seasons.

What does this mean to BFC? Is the Wilkinson deal dead, or does Larry believe we need yet another defender?

I for one find it strange that we are taking trialists on in the middle of August; what do you think? Talk about it on our forum!
