'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Hills News

We talk to Nick from wet Sheffield Wednesday Vital and ask him for an opinion on potential signing John Hills.

Nick, what are your opinions on former Wednesday left back, John Hills?

A lot of Wednesday fans were sad to see Hills let go at the end of the season. Don't get me wrong he's no Roberto Carlos, but I'd say he did well with us in his short time here and deserved to stay on.

He could have been our first choice left back, but Laws obviously sees youth as the way forward with Peter Gilber and Tommy Spurr also doing well at left back last season, we just couldn't afford to keep all three on our books. He won't be as fast as when he was with you last, but he was good going forward for us, his strengths going forward probably outweight his performance at the back to be honest!

He even filled in at left midfield sometimes and did well. I was happy with him when in the side but he was capable of the odd howler now and again.

By all accounts he's really a really good character in the dressing room too. I think he'll be a top signing for you next season.
