'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Vital View

All Blackpool fans should be savouring Sunday for the rest of their lives - I know I will. We`re back to where we belong (or getting there anyway!) and it`s thanks to the management who have been brilliant since October and the board - or most potently Valeri Belokon who has turned a 'sleeping giants` fortunes around in a year, in not only keeping us up with his money last year but also aiding The Seasiders in gaining promotion this season.

Turning to the match I felt we bossed for the whole ninety minutes, with Keigan, Wes and co showing why they`re being watched by bigger clubs every week as they performed when we needed it most - a sign of a great player. I hope we don`t lose out on Hoolahan in the summer but if we do, I for one won`t begrudge him a move to a bigger club as he thoroughly deserves one.

The whole team attacked at great pace on Sunday, which was refreshing to see in a cup final. They looked like they`d been briefed to attack from the off, and it worked a treat. Super Claus and Southern in midfield were immense in keeping the ball moving and the attack ticking over. A special mention has to go to Adrian Forbes, whom I thought played brilliantly and I wish him luck in the future if he isn`t kept on at the club because of the effort he puts in when he plays for this football club.

To summarise the season in around fifty words I`d say that it was way above my personal expectations and after the first eleven games it is a miracle. The management seem to be getting the best out of the squad at present, and going into next season against Pre*ton, Bur*ley et al we don`t know how to lose games, which can only be a good thing?
