Timely Award For Larry?

Blackpool manager Simon Grayson has picked up an award this morning; for having the best managerial record in the country over the last quarter of the regular season, awarded by the LMA.

A statement take from the Leagues Managers Associations' website reads:

'Blackpool manager Simon Grayson has won the League Managers Association (LMA) Performance League award for the fourth quarter of the season.

It is just reward for steering the Tangerines on an amazing run of form that saw them win eleven of their last fourteen matches, including the last seven in a row. This was followed by a convincing win over Oldham Athletic on the Coca Cola League One Play-Off Semi-Final to earn them a Wembley Final against dark horses Yeovil Town.

This is a great achievement by Simon Grayson, one of our brightest young managers.

He won the award ahead of some illustrious company. In second place, a full ten points behind was Roy Keane the manager of Coca Cola Championship winners Sunderland. Whist in third position was Sir Alex Ferguson of Barclays Premiership winners Manchester United.

The LMA Managers` League Awards are designed to reward and reflect success by managers at all levels of the professional game.

Under the unique points-scoring system which is managed by official LMA partners ProZone, managers collect points for victories, draws, clean sheets and goals scored.'

All at Vital say well done to Larry and lets hope it doesn't have the same curse as the manager of the month award does!
