Play-off news

It`s been a hive of activity this week with the second leg of the play-off this Saturday and we`ve rounded it up to make sure you`ve not missed anything.

First of all, former Pool stopper Les Pogliacomi pulled a thigh muscle in the second half of the match on Sunday and is defiantly out of the second leg. He was replaced in the second half by Alan Blayney who went to pull of some magnificent saves.

The former Southampton keeper commented on the getting into the side to Latics World "I'm really looking forward to it, but I feel sad for Les. To get a bad injury at this stage of the season in the middle of the play-offs and with a chance of playing at Wembley is very unlucky, and now it's up to me to step in. Our second half wasn't great, and they had a lot of chances where we could have been dead and buried. Luckily we weren't, and we're still definitely in with a chance. It's only a one-goal difference, and if we can get one early you never know what could happen.'

Also looking doubtful for the second leg is left back Simon Charlton, the former Bolton player suffered a recurrence of a ankle problem and was replaced in the second half.

Kasper Gorkss has been called up to the Latvian squad for European Championship qualifiers, he leaves on Tuesday 29th May and will be looking to make appearances against Spain, 2nd June and Denmark, 6th June.

At Bloomfield Road the Sky Sports team is preparing for the match, a studio in the South East corner will house Rob McCaffrey and Oldham old boy Andy Ritchie. Commentating will be Alan Parry and Tony Gale.

The match this Saturday kicks of at 12:00, with the coverage on Sky Sports 1 beginning at noon. Due to the early start and the game being a sell out a statement on the Blackpool Official site has asked fans to arrive at the ground early. 'We are asking everyone to arrive as early as possible on Saturday,' said a club spokesman, 'with the game being a total sell out there will be congestion around the turnstiles, we are asking everyone to get here as early as possible to ensure no one misses the noon kick off.'
