'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Blackpool's Vital View

Leaving the Galpharm Stadium on Monday I briefly thought back to the dark days of last Autumn when the side could not buy a win in the first quarter of the season. Since then, with performances like the one witnessed at Huddersfield, we have amassed an amazing 63 points from 31 games, and can even talk about the possibility of automatic promotion with only four games to go.

Any team worth its salt has to have a solid defence and yet again we saw how Messrs Jackson, Evatt and Barker have been so effective both individually and more crucially as a cohesive unit. To see those wily old campaigners Booth and Beckett completely outplayed was a sheer delight. And even when the back line was breached Larry`s latest quality signing, Joe Hart, came into his own with a calm display on his debut.

Watching Robbie Williams net his third goal in five appearances in a Tangerine shirt made me wonder if we have finally found the class left back the side desperately needs. And Claus Jorgensen`s opener was a fitting return for Keigan Parker`s non stop foraging. Thankfully his link up play with Andy Morrell now seems to be back to its very best.

Make no mistake Huddersfield were a poor team. But Blackpool dealt with them in a completely professional manner to record a fantastic tenth win on the road. With twelve points still up for grabs can this amazing season still hold one or two more twists in its tale?

Dare we think it ?? If we do though lets get some of the loan boys signed up NOW. Whether we go up or stay put we have just about the squad to stay safe in a higher division or make sure of an auto place next season. Larry has upheld his part of the bargain and built the team, now lets see the board do there bit and sign up the players and make damn sure nobody leaves before the next campaign.
