Seasiders Form A Cause For Concern

Seasiders Form A Cause For Concern

Since beating Peterborough 1-0 in November, Blackpool have only picked up just one win from the 12 league game splayed since.

This dire form has now left Blackpool just three points above the league one drop zone, after a good start to the season has seen goals dry up for Blackpool.

Blackpool go up against Charlton Athletic on Saturday afternoon, looking for their first home league win since October, and to try and stop the rot and get climbing back up the table.

It will need to be a big turnaround in fortunes given the dire performance at the weekend, where Blackpool went down 2-0 at AFC Wimbledon last weekend.

Blackpool Manager Gary Bowyer is well aware of the potential issues that face his side with their current form.

Speaking to the Blackpool Gazette, Bowyer sad:

"Everybody in the league is trying to win as many points as possible,"
"Of course you have to be concerned but we know that within that dressing room, with the performances we`ve had this season, we`re better than what we showed against AFC Wimbledon.
"We`ve got to make sure we show that next week.
"You`ve got 17 games left now and the value of them is all the same. There`s three points on offer for all of them.
"The fans have been happy with what they`ve seen from previous games but that`s the season isn`t it? It doesn`t hinge on one game or one performance."

What do Blackpool need to pick up their fortunes and get back on track? It seems that Blackpool's fortunes have taken a downwards spiral and goals had dried up since the injury's started to hit Blackpool's forward line and in particular Kyle Vassell.

Vassell was back last weekend against AFC Wimbledon, but only managed to play 65 minutes before being replaced by Nathan Delfouneso.

Those 65 minutes will be an encouraging sign for Blackpool fans and Bowyer as a Hamstring injury has kept him out for the past month.

After his 65 minute run out at the weekend, Vassell should now be able to kick forward in helping The Seasiders out to correct their form.
