Bowyer Full of Praise For New Goalkeeper
Blackpool Boss Gary Bowyer was full of praise for Blackpool's new loanee goalkeeper Joe Lumley after he made his league debut at Bloomfield Road on Saturday afternoon.
According to Blackpool Gazette Lumley helped Blackpool to keep their first clean sheet at home since the 0-0 draw with Rochdale in September.
Throughout the first half there was little to do for the new Blackpool keeper, however Lumley made some crucial saves in the second half, and in the dying minutes especially to ensure Blackpool didn't suffer another defeat at Bloomfield Road.
In his post match press conference Bowyer said 'I was delighted for Joe, it was a tough call and I felt for Christoffer (Mafoumbi) when I had to tell him he was going to be on the bench.
'"He`s done well for us and he will do well for us, in the long-term especially.
"Joe didn`t have much to do in the first half. Second half he had a couple of saves to make and he showed what a good goalkeeper he`s going to be.
"The concentration levels for goalkeepers are massive and when he rushed out I thought he could have stayed in his goal.
"But after that he dealt with a corner and a double save and then a strike from Tom Nichols.
"It`s important when you get knocked out of your stride a little bit, as we did second half, that you keep a clean sheet and we`ve done that.'
Blackpool will be looking to push on from the 0-0 draw this weekend away to AFC Wimbledon, after Blackpool have recently not let their dominance pay in the last two games, what do Blackpool need to do to push on and get those all important wins.
