Men In Black
D Whitestone turned out a sterling refereeing display on Tuesday night, but like the Blackpool of old, couldn`t do it for the full ninety, so say the MIB raters.
Whitestone, who from my vantage point looked mysteriously like Rory Prendergast, kept his cards in his pocket for near enough the whole game until he cautioned David Fox, then proceeded to book another three players: two for Bournemouth and Andy Morrell (whose yellow card is still a mystery to many!).
All our raters where of the same opinion on referee Whitestone. Here is a sample of the reaction to his performance:
I would have given him a 4, and I felt he had an excellent game until 70mins but seemed to lose the plot just before the Morrell booking.
I was going to give him a 4 until the Morrell booking then he just seemed to want to flash out the yellow cards.
3/5 - in total agreement with TP on this one.
Had a fairly solid game...but made at least 4 or 5 shocking decisions within a 5-10minute period in the second half - of which the Morrell one was the tip of the iceberg!
2/5....... He started well in fact I hardly noticed him in the first half from then on he went down hill. I think it must of been the showboating from the lads that made him feel out of the picture.
In fact at half time I did think about 'The Men In Black' and was thinking of 4/5 at that time.
I thought he did alright until the last 20 mins, he kept his cards in his pocket(He could have been a poker player)and then all of a sudden he gets a touch of the Clive Thomas's(For you younger ones he was a silly referee),would have given him 4 for the first 70 mins but I'll settle for 3.
I agree with above 3, though possibly would have been 4 until he lost it!!
Is there any confirmation on what Morrell was booked for?? Where I was looked like it was for backchat rather than the 'tackle'??
3, same as above good till 70 mins then lost his head
Agree totally, 3/10. was on for a 4-4.5 till that last 20mins.
Whitestone`s MIB rating is: 2.88
