Blackpool played host to Chelsea at Bloomfield Road, but lost 3-1 to the London side after a John Terry First half goal and a Frank Lampard second half penalty and 66th minute gal. However Blackpool did have something to cheer about as Jason Puncheon scored an 85th minute consolation goal for Blackpool.
Blackpool team that day: Kingson (Halstead 66), Crainey, Eardley, Evatt, Baptiste, Southern, Vaughan, Carney (Phillips 73), Puncheon, Reid (Ormerod 72), Beattie.
Subs Not Used: Grandin, Taylor-Fletcher, Varney, Kornilenko

Final score Blackpool 1-3 Chelsea.

7th March 2009

Blackpool beat Norwich 2-0 at Bloomfield Road. Second half goals from Brett Ormerod and Charlie Adam decided the game in Blackpools favour.
Blackpool Caretaker Manager Tony Parks added 'We needed that win and it's the first time for a long time that we have played such good football.
'With them being just below us it was always going to be a difficult game but we went out with a positive attitude.
'Once we had scored the first goal we were well on top and they really didn't create very much at all.'.

Blackpool Team that day: Rachubka, Coid, Barker, Baptiste, Crainey, Taylor-Fletcher, Southern, Adam, Vaughan (Jorgensen 79), Campbell (Blackman 87), Ormerod.
Subs Not Used: Gilks, O'Donovan, Broomes.
