Vaughan on his way back?

Vaughan on his way back?

Reports today have suggested former Pool midfielder David Vaughan could well be back on his way to the club in which he made a name for himself on loan.

Vaughan was a key feature of the Tangerines promotion and Premier League side, and won his fair share of admirers while playing for the Seasiders in this period. His ability to keep his side in possession whilst also having that hint of creativity you look for in a midfielder made him one of if not the best Blackpool player for those two years.
His midfield partnership with another Blackpool great, Charlie Adam was arguably one of the main reasons as to why Blackpool were so successful not so long ago. Due to this, I`m sure it wouldn`t be an overstatement to say that a lot of us Pool fans would love to have him back at our club.

However; even though he is a player we`ve admired previously and a player whose talents are no secret to us, the question must be asked as to whether we could use another centre midfielder in our squad?
I admit that the squad has many players missing through injuries at the minute, but when you look at the players we`ve got who can play in Vaughan`s position e.g. Gosling, Bishop, Martinez, Basham, Osbourne and Ferguson you have to wonder whether we really need Vaughan.

I would certainly much rather a defender, in particular a left back, arrive on loan this week than someone who plays in another position. This is something that would certainly be better for us when you consider Robinson`s suspension and Cathcart`s injury.

Vaughan`s arrival may not be one that would be of high priority in terms of covering a position we are weak in, but I certainly wouldn`t complain if he came back to the club this week. He would certainly be a fantastic acquisition for the squad if he came in, although it isn`t a certainty that he will return to the Tangerines. Other interested clubs include Nottingham Forest, QPR, Leicester and Derby. Bringing Vaughan back certainly won`t be an easy task.
