Trialists could do well

Trialists could do well

Even though we`d all prefer Blackpool to be bringing in more established players, many of the players on trial at the club at the moment could prove to be decent players and could even go on to feature in the squad next season.

I admit it`s a frustrating time to be a supporter of the club, a lack of transfers whilst other clubs are bringing large quantities of players can only worry supporters. But with almost a whole squad full of trialists believed to be heading down to Kendal Town this evening, we could see many new faces at the club within the next week. Although these new players will most likely be brought in on a free or at a cheap price if they impress Ince enough, that doesn`t necessarily mean they are poor.

But with Paul Ince having already expressed his desire for the club to bring in more established players, it is clear that he feels the trialists he may in fact sign on to bolster his squad can only do so well. Teams that spend money on proven players quite often end up finishing in a better place than those who don`t, just look at Cardiff last season as a clear example.

Teams can however still do extremely well even without the huge financial backing, which is something Pool fans will hope comes into effect next season. It is unlikely we will see any big money players come into Bloomfield Road this season, but with some decent players from other clubs such as Paul Caddis from Swindon and Joe Mason from Cardiff possibly coming to the club along with a few surprise trialists, Pool could in fact have enough to challenge next season as long as enough players are brought in before the first game of the season.
