No "Mates Rates" For Old Boss
If Ian Holloway thought he would get a "mates rate" discount for Tom Ince and Matt Phillips he was sorely mistaken!
In fact The Mirror reports that Holloway is "reeling" from the £14m transfer fees quoted to him if he wants to take the wingers to Crystal Palace.
With sell-on fees to Liverpool and Wycombe for Ince and Phillips respectively being paid out should Blackpool get the £8m they want for Ince and the £6m they want for Phillips Liverpool would stand to collect £2.4m and Wycombe almost £2m, bizarrely enough if Liverpool did end up re-signing Ince they'd get money for signing him.
Ironically enough it was under Holloway that these players signed, and had the sell-on clauses inserted, so with that in mind Blackpool are rightly looking for as much as they can knowing that they will have to hand over several million to former clubs!
That is assuming both leave this summer, which is they didn't and waited until next season they'd do so as free agents with The Tangerines collecting only a small fee on both.
