'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Birthday Boys

In the days of mass administration and the like, it's testament to both Blackpool and today's visitors Barnsley that they are both celebrating 125 of football this year. Barnsley were very welcoming earlier in the season, reducing the tickets to £12.50 and spoiling us with a couple of party poppers, heavy duty smoke and a couple of lasses on stilts. It may not have had big money glam, but the effort was made non the less.

Thankfully Blackpool have reciprocated with the ticket reduction, though it's still not too clear for our visitors today as to how many they are allowed to bring due to the Cardiff fan 'unfortunately' falling through the East last week, likewise another own goal in the club not making more of this today - Barnsley dubbed their version a 'family day', yet it has all seemed silent at Bloomfield Road. surely both tieams surviving 125 years is a proud moment?

Anyway, Angel & Baps have both hit 27 years of age this week, so let us hope the crown of their celebrations with 3 points today. Maybe a goal each?

What is a nice gesture for the whole 125 year anniversary is that it is understood the club have been creating a recreation of the original pitch at Raikes Hall Gardens, utilising the pitch maintenance methods of the day, sand, mud and a pitch fork.

Joking aside, happy birthday to both teams, let us get some smiles back, song for Tommo and the boys and end the day climbing back up the table.

Come on the 'pool.
