Blackpool have late Falkirk bid turned down

Blackpool failed in a late bid to sign Falkirk's Mark Millar.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been an ever-present for the Scottish First Division side this season, scoring two goals.

The Seasiders' bid was described as nowhere near the valuation of the player by his club.

'The offer came nowhere near our valuation of the player and for this reason, Blackpool's bid has been turned down,' a club spokesman told the Falkirk website.

Millar broke into the Bairns' first team in 2010 and has made almost 50 appearances for them since a move from Celtic.

In other news, Ian Holloway is hoping to get ratification from the Football League on a deal for a striker Pool spoke to late on in the transfer window.

After the manager said the player in question took part in his team's game this evening, rumours are abound as to who he may be, with Sam Baldock, El-Hadji Diouf and Jason Scotland mooted as possible candidates.

News will follow sometime tomorrow, but Blackpool may look to do a loan deal if the transfer doesn't come off.
