Report: Leicester 2-0 Blackpool
Blackpool's good run during November came to an end tonight as they slipped to a 2-0 defeat away at Leicester.
'Pool stuck with the same team that had drawn with Birmingham at the weekend, and looked dangerous early doors but struggled to create any clear cut chances.
It was the Foxes - who themselves now occupy a playoff berth - who had the first real chance of the night; Matt Gilks saving superbly from Jermaine Beckford.
However, the decisive moment of the match was an injury: Alex Baptiste pulled up with a hamstring injury and was replaced by Chris Basham. Seconds later, the Foxes were ahead; Barry Ferguson failing to track Andy King's run, leaving the Welsh international to roll the ball home, with Ian Evatt in no man's land.
Gary Taylor-Fletcher wasted a chance to equalise just before the break; heading Neal Eardley's fine cross straight at Kasper Schmeichel.
The Seasiders huffed and puffed in the second half but to no avail, often looking ragged.
Matt Gilks was called into action again by a Beckford shot, while David Nugent nearly connected with Neil Danns' cross to make it 2-0.
It was Danns himsself who did finally make it 2-0, tapping into an empty net after Dave Nugent had beaten the offside trap.
'Pool will now aim to bounce back as December begins with a home game against Reading on Saturday.
