Sky Sports: Seasiders Set For Shelvey Swoop

According to Sky Sports, Blackpool are on the verge of signing Liverpool's Jonjo Shelvey on loan.

The talented 19 year old has been linked with the Seasiders throughout the summer, and now looks like he could be on his way to Bloomfield Road with Kop boss Kenny Dalglish eager for the midfielder to get some first team football under his belt.

Shelvey joined the Reds last year from Charlton and was a regular in the first team squad at Anfield last term.

However, with Liverpool having brought in several new midfield options over the summer, Shelvey has yet to feature for the first team this term, and after not being included in their 25 man Premier League squad he is now set to depart the club on loan, with Sky claiming that the Seasiders have won the race for his signature.

If true, the news will be a tremendous boost to the Seasiders who have been lacking a certain 'oomph' in the attacking third so far this term.

The news will also be welcome relief for Seasiders boss Ian Holloway, who just a few days ago was bemoaning his lack of luck in the loan market - making a mockery of his and chairman Karl Oyston's claims that 'hundreds' of players would be available once top flight clubs had registered their squads at the end of the August transfer window.

Shelvey is a highly rated young man and 'Pool supporters saw first hand just what he can do to teams a few seasons ago at The Valley. He would fit our system perfectly; all we can hope now is that Sky are correct!

Meanwhile, Man City youngster Reece Warbara - who was also linked to the Seasiders by Sky - is set to join Ipswich on loan.

Under 21 isn't he? So wouldn't need to be included in the 25 man squad regardless.
